Several other clubs are also giving away free medical marijuana at the San Jose shopping center.
City Council woman and mayoral candidate Rose Herrera says this just proves marijuana is a recreational drug.
However, she isn’t in favor of what the pot shops are doing.
“To offer someone an inducement and to offer them a drug to vote doesn’t seem right to me. I’m going to move to ban them. I think the county is moving in that direction and other cities around us have. Do we want to be the capital of Silicon Valley or do we want to be the capital of marijuana central?” said Herrea.
Others disagree with Herrea’s thoughts on the subject.
“It’s always good to be politically active. I mean for any issue not just this one,” said Pat Knoop with Holistic Health Care.
“I think it highlights that fact it’s just a recreational drug,” said Dr. Victor Enriquez.
Customers who want free pot just have to prove they voted and have a marijuana card.
