The celebration of music and arts will run from noon until 8 p.m. at the Bijou Center parking lot, 3445 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Marley’s website describes the Grammy nominee as a “roots-reggae musician, singer-songwriter, producer and humanitarian.”

Marley is the son of reggae legend Bob Marley and Barbados-born Lucy Pounder.

“I give thanks for the musical guidance I received from my father and continue to receive from my brothers,” Julian Marley said.

In 1996, Marley released his debut entitled, “Lion in the Morning.” He followed that up in 1998 contributing to Lauryn Hill’s Grammy-winning album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”

In 1999 , Marley, along with his brothers Stephen and Damian, contributed to the production of the platinum-selling “Chant Down Babylon”. The album featured various hip-hop and rock artists covering Bob Marley & The Wailers.

In 2009, Marley rose to new heights with the release of “Awake”. The album, inspired “by all the family who have come before,” was nominated for a Grammy. Marley’s website says “the album was inspired by Julian’s life and spirituality and skillfully weaves diverse musical styles into a set of hypnotic beats and soulful vocals.”
