Marijuana; The “Just Say Now '14 Campaign Fund” to Legalize, Regulate & Reform

Marijuana; The “Just Say Now ’14 Campaign Fund” to Legalize, Regulate & Reform

Help Just Say Now Dismantle Prohibition in 2014

Dear Just Say Now activist,

Will you step up for marijuana reforms in 2014?

The Just Say Now campaign has been hard at work supporting state and local campaigns across the country to reform marijuana laws. In just the past few months, we’ve helped people fight for decriminalization, medical, legalization and even industrial hemp — and in many cases, we’ve won!

Now it’s time we begin preparations for the next set of major legislative battles. Here is a look at some of what we’re working towards this year:

Just Say Now will organize activists in their communities to run petition drives, call voters and legislators, promote protests and events and more to turn out support for marijuana reforms. But since we’re an independent, grassroots group we can’t do it without the support of activists like you.

Can you please contribute $5 or more to Just Say Now’s 2014 Campaign Fund kick-off?

Ever since our landmark victories legalizing marijuana in Colorado and Washington State, the momentum behind reform has been incredible. We even ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund the publication of our policy analyst Jon Walker’s new book After Legalization, which outlines many of the challenges ahead of us.

This year, we have the chance to make history again. We could help legalize marijuana for the first time via state legislature in Rhode Island, and even legalize it in our nation’s capital! We can even bring desperately needed reform to patients in America‘s 3rd largest state.

We’re confident we can do this because we’ve proven that we can do hard work when we come together as a community of activists and reformers. In just this past year, Just Say Now has had success with several campaigns, including:

  • Decriminalizing marijuana in Washington, DC and Maryland

  • Passing a local marijuana legalization ordinance in Portland, ME

  • Calling for federal guidelines for marijuana businesses to use banks

  • Implementing Amendment 64 in towns and cities across Colorado

  • Adopting a resolution in support of states rights to regulate marijuana by the US Conference of Mayors

What makes these wins even more amazing is that both Just Say Now and our parent organization Firedoglake.com are completely reader-funded projects that exist solely through the dedication and generosity of people like you. Quite literally, we could not have done this without you.

Please consider donating $5 or more to Just Say Now’s 2014 Campaign Fund kick-off.

With your help, we’ll use this this war chest to make significant marijuana reforms this year – bringing the U.S. steps closer to finally ending the discriminatory, wasteful policy of prohibition.

In Solidarity,

Brian Sonenstein
