There has been a lot of talk about the health benefits of marijuana.


I have no problem with people talking, writing, researching, reporting and blogging about the potential risks and benefits of marijuana use, so long as we all agree to be honest about it.  As a physician, I’m okay with non-physicians sharing and discussing credible research data regarding the medical benefits of marijuana.  I even voted to legalize marijuana for recreational use in Colorado, not because I think recreational pot smoking is a good idea, but because I think wasting resources on criminalizing it is an even worse idea than smoking it.


What I’m not okay with, however, is non-physicians twisting credible research data into a pro-pot lobby platform that it was never intended to be.  The pro-pot lobby has a political agenda, and just like any other lobby with a political agenda, their goal is to convince us…
