Police find cannabis farm in Churchill after attending burglary

POLICE attending a suspected burglary in Churchill were distracted by their sense of smell – leading them to a cannabis farm.


A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “On the evening of March 8 at Church Lane, in Churchill, officers followed up reports of a burglary in progress.


“While there, the officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis.


“They located the smell to a barn where 15 cannabis plants were found inside. These were removed and destroyed and an investigation was launched.


“Since then a 40-year-old man has been issued with a police caution after claiming the plants were for his personal use.”
