A PORTLAND district man in his 30s has been charged after 18 cannabis plants and a rifle were found during a police raid on Thursday afternoon.
Police executed a drugs and firearms search warrant at 4.27pm on Thursday at an Amors Road, Gorae West, and found 18 immature cannabis plants, a rife, an imitation firearm, a substantial amount of ammunition and loose cannabis.
The man was arrested, charged and bailed to appear in the Portland Magistrates Court on a date to be fixed.
A Portland driver has been be charged with drink driving after recording a reading more than three times the legal limit on Friday morning.
Sergeant Ray Hastings said the driver was pulled up in Hurd Street at 1.41am after officers noticed a vehicle did not have tail lights operating.
The driver returned a positive preliminary breath test and then an evidentiary reading at the Portland police station of .179.
The driver will appear in court on three charges.
