Major outlaw bikie gang raid by Police in Gunnedah

Police have raised very serious concerns about the level of infiltration an outlaw bikie gang has had on a community and town in the north west.

Over the weekend both local Police and Officers from Strike Force Raptor raided a club house of the out law motorcycle gang the Gladiators

Police had been preparing for the raid since November last year

Oxley Local Area Command, Inspector Jeff Budd said 30 Police were involved in the operation, including 12 from Strike Force Raptor,

“They don’t mess around they are very serious about their entries, of course that is because of the high risk nature of dealing with bikies .. so it was very swift, full entry team with general purpose dogs and equipment. Within a matter of seconds the whole place was secured and persons of interest were also secured and searched.”

Inspector Budd said there were five members in colours there and two other local community service group members there,

“I don’t know what local charity groups want to get involved with an outlaw motorcycle gang … but that is a decision for themselves.. one of those individual was caught with some cannabis .. that was interesting.”

He said Police seized six truck loads of goods,

“We found a large sum of cash, huge amounts of alcohol (1500 bottles of spirits), we seized everything in site, all the fridges bars, everything that was inside that premises except the walls were taken … the club was totally stripped down there was nothing left”

He said the only charges laid were on the community service organisation members who Police allege had possession of cannabis.

“There are on going inquiries now in relation to the licensing aspects and those executive members of the club in Gunnedah will be held responsible for that activity.”
