Man caught in car chopping cannabis on P-Plate in 'no stopping' zone

They also seized cash and mobile phones from the vehicle.


St George police have charged two men after allegedly finding methyl amphetamine (ICE), cannabis and cash after searching a car at  Riverwood.


Police saw a car stopped in a No Stopping zone about 2.15pm Tuesday on Thurlow Street.


They allege they saw a man, 20, sitting in the front passenger’s seat, chopping cannabis on a P-plate on his lap.


Police searched the driver, 19, and found 4.3 grams of methyl amphetamine (ICE) and a small amount of cannabis.


They also seized cash and mobile phones from the vehicle.


They took the men to Kogarah police station where the 19-year-old was charged with supplying a prohibited drug and dealing with the proceeds of crime. The older man was charged with possessing a prohibited drug.


Both were granted conditional bail to appear before Sutherland Local Court on Thursday September 11, 2014.
