NAPLES, Fla. – Collier County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Friday who they say was manufacturing marijuana butter and marijuana wax in the North Naples home he shares with his children.
Clifford Jay Smith, 28, faces seven felony charges, most related to possession, sales and production of pot products, and violation of his state probation.
Deputies say they found almost two pounds of marijuana butter — used to add marijuana to food — worth about $96,000 on the streets, and over a pound of edible marijuana brownies after serving a search warrant around 1 p.m. at Smith’s home, according to an arrest report. Inside the home, deputies also found marijuana, marijuana wax, Xanax and drug paraphernalia used to manufacture the marijuana wax and butter.
Smith said his children live there but were at their grandmother’s home at the time of the search. Smith’s address was not released, but reports say he lives within 1,00 feet of St. John’s Catholic Church on 111th Avenue North in North Naples.
