According to Hoodline, San Franciscans who want to apply for a medical cannabis card can now do so while browsing for records and CDs at Haight Street’s Amoeba Music.

Last fall, Amoeba was reportedly attempting to open a medical marijuana dispensary, but was rejected by the Planning Department due to its proximity to the Boys and Girls Club and the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center. Dispensaries are not allowed within 1000 feet of such facilities.

Now, Amoeba appears to have settled for the next best thing — dispensing the medical ID cards required to purchase marijuana at a dispensary in San Francisco. Hoodline reports that the offices of Dr. Francesco Isolani’s Green Evaluations is now open at Amoeba Records, “accessible by following the leaf-green painted line through Amoeba’s front door down the entry, to the right behind the DVD room, through a fire door furnished like a makeshift waiting room with plastic folding chairs, and up the stairs.”

According to Green Evaluations’ website, the office is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is accepting walk-in patients.
