Four persons have been arrested in two different cases of narcotic trade over the last few days in Delhi.
Over two kilos of heroin was recovered in the first case and 141 kilos of cannabis in the other.
The total market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be about Rs 2.5 crore in the international market.
In the first incident, a drug trafficker and drug peddler were arrested on Minto Road while the contraband was exchanging hands.
About 200 grams heroin was recovered from peddler Gulsher and subsequent search of trafficker Belraj Shiekh’s home at Mukudpur Extension produced another two kilos of the same drugs.
Interrogation revealed that the drugs were being procured from Jharkhand-West Bengal border.
One of the arrested men Gulsher has been arrested twice in the past for possession of drugs.
Cannabis seized
In the other incident, two persons were caught with 141 kilos of cannabis in outer Delhi’s Rohini when they had arrived there in a Honda City car.
The six white plastic sacks containing the cannabis and the car were seized from them.
The accused, Sudhir Rathee and Jatin Manchanda, allegedly procured the cannabis at Rs 3,000 per kilo and further sold them to their contacts for Rs 5,000–Rs 7,000 per kilogram.
