The ihempHI.com group will set up tables at various storefront locations throughout Maui during National Hemp history Week, June 2 through 8, when shoppers will have an opportunity to learn more about industrial hemp and its importance to the island’s environment, economy, agriculture, food supply and sustainability.
Participating stores include Whole Foods and Down to Earth in Kahului and the Lipoa Street Farmers Market, Safeway and Awakening in Paradise in Kihei.
Free product samples (limited supply) will be available. Hemp merchandise will also be on display for sale. Shoppers can also view mold-, mildew- and termite-resistant building materials made from hemp, watch the informative movie, “Bringing It Home,” and pick up educational handouts.
