MANY of the cannabis plants found by police in a raid on Llansamlet were being grown in caravans, it has emerged.
Police swooped on land off Pant-y-Blawd Road over the weekend following information received from the public.
Officers recovered around 300 plants from the site, and the Evening Post understands many were in caravans.
Police are appealing for anybody with information about the cannabis farm to come forward.
South Wales Police inspector Tony Meyrick said: “We are appealing to anyone who has any information which could assist us in the investigation to contact the police.”
Police have confirmed that no arrests have yet been made in relation to the raid.
The Llansamlet haul was the second big find by police in 10 days — earlier this month Port Talbot officers uncovered some 280 plants and “a sophisticated cannabis operation” following a search warrant at a property in Newbridge Road in Sandfields.
