Aloha woman accused of giving teen anti-anxiety pills, marijuana, leading to drug overdose

Samantha Francisco

An Aloha woman was arrested after a 15-year-old girl overdosed on a combination of anti-anxiety pills and marijuana given to the teen after the woman invited her home last week, court documents say.

Samantha K. Francisco, 38, was arrested Thursday and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of delivery of a controlled substance to a minor. Court documents do not say whether Francisco knew the Aloha High School student, who was hospitalized for 12 hours and released.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the girl told a Washington County deputy that she left school early on Oct. 15 and soon spotted Francisco smoking marijuana in the area. The woman then invited the girl to her home in the 4700 block of Southwest 184th Avenue, where the teen as given marijuana, Ativan and Lorazepam pills, the affidavit said.

The girl claimed Francisco told her the names of the pills, but the teen did not know how they would affect her, according to the affidavit.

The girl smoked the marijuana in Francisco’s backyard, took the pills later in the day, overdosed and was taken to a hospital, the affidavit said. On Thursday, the deputy found Francisco, who admitted giving the girl drugs.

According to the affidavit, Francisco could not remember how many pills she gave the girl or if there were other kids in her home at the time.
