Cannabis plants worth up to €80000 seized in Killarney

This is the fourth high profile drugs seizure in the last fortnight – gardaí say they are cracking down on the sale and supply of drugs

Cannabis plants worth around €80,000 have been seized in Killarney, Co. Kerry.


The drugs were found when gardaí searched a house in Muckross yesterday evening, as part of an ongoing operation to crack down on the sale and supply of drugs in the area.


Officers from District Drug Unit and the Regional Dog Unit worked with local gardaí to carry out the planned search, during which they also found drug paraphenalia.


A man in his twenties was arrested at the scene.


He is being questioned under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act at Killarney garda station.
