More than £3,000 and a large quantity of cannabis were found during a search of the property in Mortham Street, E15, when officers from the Neighbour Policing Team executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act last month.

A 20-year-old man and a woman were arrested at the address for possession with intent to supply drugs.

They have been bailed to an east London police station until mid-August, pending further enquires.

Acting Police Sergeant Kim Coombs, of West Ham Safer Neighbourhood Team, said the warrant was executed following complaints of drugs related anti-social behaviour from the local community.

“This warrant is just one of many initiatives the borough has planned to disrupt criminal activities within Newham,” she said. “These arrests send out a clear message that Newham police will not tolerate drug related anti-social behaviour.

“We will continue to work with the community to make Newham a safer place to live and work.”
