Rick Ross Arrested on Outstanding Warrant After SuperJam

Rick Ross was arrested on Friday night after his performance at the 2014 SuperJam in Greensboro, North Carolina. According to the Greensboro News & Record, the rapper was taken into custody on a misdemeanor possession of marijuana warrant.

The charges stem for an arrest in Greensboro last year. Greensboro police spokesperson Susan Danielsen said the warrant was issued after Ross failed to appear at a court date for the earlier arrest. “After he was done performing, we escorted him to the magistrate’s office,” the spokesperson said. Ross was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

Friday’s incident wasn’t Ross’ first marijuana-related run-in with the law. The rapper, who once told Rolling Stone that the longest he’d ever gone without getting stoned was on a flight to South Africa, was arrested in Miami in 2008 for marijuana and carrying a concealed firearm, as well as in Louisiana on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge in Louisiana in 2011.

Ross released his sixth studio album, Mastermind, in early March. The rapper has also been sharing his expertise on weed, dating etiquette and career advancement with Rolling Stone readers in our advice column, “Ask A Boss.”
