Handgun, marijuana found after traffic stop

CORPUS CHRISTI – A 29-year-old man was arrested after five bags of synthetic marijuana and a handgun were found in his 1994 Cadillac on Monday, police said.

Police stopped the Cadillac for a traffic violation about 10:20 a.m. in the 1500 block of Stillman Avenue. The driver, a 29-year-old man, got out of his car, quickly shut the door, and went to talk to police, according to a police news release.

The man was detained when police found he did not have a drivers license. Police walked up to the car and saw a silver and black handgun on the drivers seat and five bags of synthetic marijuana in the center console of the vehicle.

Police were unable to open the vehicle and later found the man left the keys inside the Cadillac and locked the door when he got out, the police news release stated.

Once the vehicle was opened police took the handgun and bags of marijuana.

Sean Boston was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third degree felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a state jail felony.

Boston remained in Nueces County Jail Tuesday, with bail set at $15,000.
