Two Arrested After Marijuana, Stolen Gun Found During Traffic Stop


A Dover man and woman were arrested after Dover Police found marijuana and a stolen gun during a traffic stop.

Police say they stopped 22-year-old Shaquille Thomas and 20-year-old Laura Troise for speeding Sunday morning on US 13.  When the officer approached the car, he smelled marijuana coming from the car.


The officer searched the car and found 1.6 grams of marijuana and a .45 caliber Glock.  Authorities then learned the gun was reported stolen by Delaware State Police.


Thomas has been charged with carry concealed deadly weapon, receiving a stolen firearm, second-degree conspiracy, possession of weapon by person prohibited, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana with aggravating factor.


Troise was charged with carry concealed deadly weapon, receiving a stolen firearm, and second-degree conspiracy.
