Rota resident in marijuana case posts $300, released to spouse's custody

SUPERIOR Court Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio determined the suitability of Stephen Edward Albright’s wife, 42, as the proposed third party custodian for the defendant.

The judge lowered to $3,000 the original $30,000 cash bail, and allowed Albright, 43, to post $300, or 10 per cent of the lowered bail.

If Albright or defendant’s representative posts bail, the judge ordered the Department of Corrections to transport Albright to the Rota Corrections facility to be released to his wife.

Albright was arrested by Rota police officers for illegal possession and trafficking of marijuana.

Chief Prosecutor Brian Flaherty represented the government, while Chief Public Defender Douglas Hartig appeared on behalf of Albright.

Albright is a Tier 3 registered sex offender with the CNMI Sex Offender Registry.

A separate information from Guam Sex Offender Registry showed that Albright was convicted on June 2, 2005 of committing sexual abuse of a then-14-year-old minor in the third degree in Alaska.
