Penkhull man and woman accused of growing cannabis

A MAN and woman are to appear at crown court accused of producing cannabis.

Alex Jones, aged 44, of James Street, Penkhull, is charged with producing 104 cannabis plants on October 21 and producing 41 cannabis plants on November 27.

And 32-year-old Rachael Deakin, also of James Street, is accused of possession of 2.82 grams of cannabis on November 27.

She is also charged with producing 41 cannabis plants on the same date.

Magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre declined jurisdiction.

Now both defendants have been sent to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court to appear there for a plea and case management hearing on September 22.

The pair gave no indication as to their pleas.
