At an event Friday, the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce hosted Kentucky’s agriculture leader, who informed attendees about the work being done to introduce industrial hemp as a crop in Kentucky.
Agriculture commissioner James Comer spoke at the chamber’s quarterly Rooster Booster breakfast. Comer spoke on the topic of industrial hemp, promoting its usefulness and describing the hurdles state leaders faced on the way to having the first test crop harvested.
