Summit County medical professionals are invited to a medical marijuana panel discussion hosted by cannabis educational tour company Cultivating Spirits.
The event will be on Monday, Nov. 10, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Elevate CoSpace in Frisco.
“We are excited to be hosting our very first medical professional cannabis discussion in Summit County,” said Philip Wolf, founder of Cultivating Spirits. “Our goal for this event is to further educate nurses, doctors and other industry professionals on the medical benefits of cannabis so that they have confident and responsible discussions with their patients who use or are thinking of using cannabis.”
Wolf will lead the panel discussion that will include:
Dr. Barry Bialek, of Doctor B’s Mountain Clinic. Bialek has been a family medicine faculty member at the University of Arizona and the University of Toronto. For the last four years, the focus of his practice has been cannabis medicine. He has examined more than 12,000 patients, including children, and has seen remarkable health outcomes from proper use. Through his study and clinical experience, he’s developed dosage guidelines for several conditions. Bialek is the clinical member of the cannabis research group at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Jessica Catalano, chef and author of “The Ganja Kitchen Revolution: The Bible of Cannabis Cuisine.” Catalano will discuss how to properly and responsibly consume marijuana. Catalano uses cannabis medicinally and has been exploring the plant’s medicinal qualities since 1997.
Nick Brown, owner of High Country Healing: The medical and recreational pot dispensary has five locations in Colorado and aims to help individuals achieve the highest quality of life by providing alternative resources in a professional, confidential and caring environment. Brown will discuss his experiences working with medical marijuana patients and the current state and legalities of the cannabis industry.
