$150K Worth of Synthetic Marijuana Confiscated in Robstown

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - Narcotics officers in Robstown have made one of the biggest busts of synthetic marijuana that they have ever seen. It all began with a routine traffic stop and ended with two people arrested.

Sunday 3News got a first look at more than 3,000 bags containing over 38,000 grams of synthetic marijuana.

Robstown Narcotics Officer Isaac DeLeon was patrolling along U.S. Highway 77 near County Road 36 when he pulled over the vehicle for several violations.

Upon further inspection, DeLeon noticed some strange boxes in the back of the SUV the suspects were driving, he took a closer look and found the drugs.

Police arrested Sean Ray Blackmon, 27, and Jose Luis Caballero, 31, from Baytown, Texas. According to police the duo was traveling from Houston to Brownsville when they were pulled over. Both men were booked into the Nueces County Jail. Caballero has since bonded out.

The synthetic marijuana has an estimated street value of nearly $150,000. The Robstown Police Department will be providing additional details on the bust Monday morning.
